Poke welcomes two new team members

Over the last few weeks, we have welcomed two new additions to our team in Liverpool.

In a partnership with The Juice Academy, we have appointed a new content creator who is receiving on the job training along with a fortnightly course that teaches the digital marketing necessities. We have also taken on a new creative designer, who will create animated content for us and our clients.

Kelly has taken on the role of content creator through The Juice Academy’s Apprentify scheme. Hear from Kelly below:

Where have you studied or worked previously?

I graduated from the University of Salford in 2022 with an English Language and Creative Writing degree. I then went on to do a Masters in Screen Studies at the University of Liverpool, which I am set to graduate from at the end of this year. This is my first big content creation role, but I am very excited to get stuck in and join the Poke team.

What are some of your key strengths?

I am organised, imaginative and positive. I enjoy meeting new people, which I think is important for this role.

What are you most looking forward to about working at Poke?

I’m really excited to start posting on the Poke socials and getting to work with different people who can help me develop my own skills. I was drawn to the agency aspect of Poke because each day is different and I am excited to work in a fast-paced, interactive environment.

What is something that people would be surprised to learn about you?

I watch at least one film every single day. I like to keep up with the newest releases and every weekend I go to the cinema to see what’s on. Movies have been a big part of my life since I was young and my love for them has only grown with time.

Na is our newest animator, who joins our expanding design team. Here is a bit about her:

Where have you studied or worked previously?

I studied Graphic Design and Illustration at Liverpool John Moores University from 2014 to 2017. In uni, I learned and experimented with a lot of different elements of graphic design, illustration and animation. Before joining Poke, I worked as a creative designer for over 4 years. This was a rewarding experience and helped me to shape my skills. I am excited to join the Poke team and develop my skills further.

What are some of your key strengths?

I have experience in UI website design, brand design, brand strategy and editorial design, but I am most passionate about motion design and animation. I like to bring a lot of energy into my design work. I am able to translate my knowledge of graphic design and brand process into motion design and illustration. I am a very innovative person, and I like to explore new areas and possibilities in my field.

What are you most looking forward to about working at Poke?

I am most excited to thrive in motion animation. I want to develop my creativity skills and create more innovative projects that can push my animation skills further.

What is something that people would be surprised to learn about you?

When I was in uni I learned how to make crafts out of clay. Some of my crafts include food, which is quite fun because you have to bake them in the oven like actual food. It’s definitely an interesting and fun hobby.

Kelly and Na have been with us for a few weeks now and we have loved welcoming them to the team. They each have an incredible new set of skills that we know will push our clients further and generate some impressive results.
