Once again, we are super proud to work with the great team at the EFL on their annual Rainbow Ball initiative, promoting inclusion and celebrating LGBTQ+ football fans across the country. The opportunity to craft impactful creative that helps a brand share an important message is exactly what we are all about here at Poke.

The Rainbow Ball is a key moment in the EFL’s inclusion calendar, and we love that they trust us in helping the message get out to fans across the League’s 72 football clubs.

We created a dynamic animation that captures the significance of the Rainbow match ball and the story behind it. The animation brings the ball to life through movement, blending bold lines with playful spots to reflect energy, vibrancy, and celebration.

Poke Graphic and Motion Designer Becca Heywood explains how our team brought the ball to life:

“We used a variety of mixed media. Through stop-motion animation, each frame was crafted individually with handmade brushes and textures. We broke the ball into multiple sections, with each exploring a unique way to build, transform, and animate it on screen.”

By combining these creative visuals with the campaign’s message ‘’Football for everyone. Hate for no one.’’, the animation plays a key role in driving awareness and engagement across the football community.
