What I’ve Learnt: Molly Kyte, Project Manager

At Poke, growth isn’t just something we deliver for our clients, it’s something we push for our team too. Whether it’s learning new skills, stepping into bigger roles, or simply getting more confident day-to-day, we make space for everyone to develop and back them all the way.

Molly, our Project Manager, is a perfect example. She started at Poke in 2021 as a Junior Content Producer Apprentice, and over the past four years, she’s grown into a core member of the team that we all rely on. A go to for getting things done, meticulous planner and client favourite. In this Q&A, she shares a few things she’s learnt along the way, from confidence wobbles to the power of porridge.

What’s a piece of advice you would give yourself when you first started at Poke?

To be more confident in yourself and your work. Don’t be afraid to ask for help and to ask questions – it doesn’t show weakness (this was a big one for me – thanks to Nic!)

What’s something small that makes a huge difference to how you work?

Being in the office and being able to communicate easily with the team. We’re a very collaborative team, and being able to simply turn around and ask a quick question makes a difference (even if the team gets fed up with my constant ‘can you just…’).

A not-so-serious answer? Porridge and coffee. Essential.

Who or what has been the biggest influence on your working life?

Nicola and Emily, 100%. The Pokettes taught me pretty much everything I use in my day-to-day job, and I’m so grateful for all of the learning, support, and opportunities they’ve given me.

What does success look like to you?

Feeling proud of what you’ve accomplished and taking learnings away from every experience, even if it didn’t go perfectly.

What’s your proudest moment at Poke so far?

I know it sounds a bit soppy, but seeing the team grow and seeing our work out in the wild!
